It’s been a while since I posted my last entry here. I’ve been busy doing some series marathon (Fringe and Scent of A Woman) and blog hopping over the past weeks. Last week I was craving for a Red Velvet cupcake. But because Sonja’s are kinda expensive, I thought of baking them myself. So yesterday my mama and I went to Landmark and Market Market to buy the necessary ingredients of the said dish. And today, with the help of my mama, we bake.

Steps and Ingredients for cupcake

1. Pre-heat the oven to 375F and line the pans with cupcake liners.

2. In a large bowl, mix (1 1/2 stick) butter in a medium-low speed.

3. Slowly add the (1 1/2 cups) sugar.

4. Add (2) eggs one at a time.

5. In a small bowl, mix (1 teaspoon) cocoa powder, (1 teaspoon) vanilla, and (2 teaspoon) red food coloring.

6. Add both mixtures together.

7. Add (2 1/2 cups) sifted all-purpose flour, and (1 cup) buttermilk mixed with (1 teaspoon) salt alternately.

8. Mix and add (1 teaspoon) vinegar and (1 teaspoon) baking soda.

9. Bake for 15- 20 mins or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

*yields 18-24 cupcakes.

Steps and Ingredients for Cream Cheese Frosting

1. Beat (2 sticks) butter carefully until smooth.

2. Mix in (2 sticks) cream cheese and (1 teaspoon) vanilla.

3. Add (4 cups) sifted confectioners’ sugar one at a time and beat until smooth.

Early this morning, I went to Makati and had my first ever walk-in application in one of the prestigious banks in the country.

The process overall was smooth and fast. And I guess it’s the usual type of process that applicants undergo in most companies out there. Pass your CV and TOR to the reception desk, undergo initial interview and take an exam.

9:05 AM

I was called for initial interview to which I was asked about the position I would like and want to apply; how did I know/hear of the job; the course I got and the reason why I took it; and some personal ones such as my age.

9:30 AM

Oh here comes the challenging part. A 3-part exam (IQ, Math, Language) wherein you need to pass all 3 or else bid bye, bye… IQ was more on abstract reasoning. Math, what can I say?! Answer all questions/problems within 10 mins. It’s hard (IMO. I hate Math btw!). Language was like search for error or what’s wrong with this sentence type.

Done. Pass your papers! Others went wild while some, including me, were silently observing and praying to pass. Nosebleed. No, nakaka-cause ng internal bleeding ang Math part para sa akin. Believe it or not, out of the 25 questions, more than half were answered by Shotgun Mode. Hehehehe! I was positive about it though.

And here are the results! First ones called were out. The rest who were not called are safe (parang elimination lang sa isang contest. lol).

Fill-up the given application form and schedule an interview with the assigned head/representative.

Class dismissed. Went to Glorietta for lunch then home.
